HOW TO WASH CLIP-IN HAIR EXTENSIONS

HOW TO WASH CLIP-IN HAIR EXTENSIONS

The same way your own hair needs a good wash and condition to maintain its beauty and shine, so do your human hair extensions!

We recommend washing your clip-in hair extensions every 15-20 wears, or when the hair has a build up of products and has become unmanageable to style.

It’s important to treat your human hair extensions the same way you would your own hair. This means washing them with a sulfate-free shampoo, conditioning them with a repairing treatment, detangling them gently while wet and leaving them out to air-dry whenever possible. A great solution for air-drying your extensions is to leave them on your Frontrow storage and styling hanger.

The way you care for your hair extensions makes the biggest difference for how long your extensions can last you - washing them with these tips and tricks will help make your extensions last longer.

Be sure to use the best moisturizing shampoo and conditioner you have and allow the conditioner time to work into the hair. Be gentle on the extensions when they are wet, don’t tug too hard at them. Make sure the clips are shut when washing, to avoid any hair getting caught and tangled in the clips. Use a repair spray on the hair before gently combing the hair, starting at the ends and working your way up. Allow the hair to dry naturally, as this will prolong their lifespan.

Tip for if you don't have time for a full wash: Airing out your extensions is often all you need to keep them clean. You can use a little Argan hair oil, or Shine Spray to keep them smelling fresh and feeling soft.
