7 questions you'd want Clare Wiese-Wentzel to answer

Season one of KYKNET's beauty show, MOOIMAAK MET CLARE WIESE-WENTZEL, aired in August last year and was such a hit, that kykNET invited the beautiful Clare and her team of wonder workers back for a second season this August. Obviously we are super excited for the next season - not just because ClipinHair Extensions play a part in the transformations, but also becaue we just love seeing how Clare can take a women who has seemingly lost interest in herself, and transform her into the beautiful being she was meant to be, by starting the process from the inside.

Clare is currently filming the last few episodes of season 2, but we managed to catch her in between takes to ask her a few questions about the show, as well as her personal take on life.

ClipinHair: Why do women enjoy watching MOOIMAAK as much as they do?

Clare: Women enjoy watching the show because our experts take ordinary women, many of whom have been through very difficult pasts, and give them a new lease on life by dramatically improving their appearance (and often their health, too). It's inspiring and, ultimately, leaves the audience feeling good. The world we live in is so full of negativity and sadness, our show tries to inject your Thursday night with some positivity and hope.

ClipinHair: What is YOUR highlight of the show?

Clare: The Big Reveals are always a highlight, where we see a brand new woman emerge after three months of intensive treatments. It is also wonderful to see the smile on their loved ones' faces, at the moment they are revealed.

ClipinHair: How will season two differ from season one?

Clare: The episodes are longer, so we now have more time to cover lifestyle topics beyond pure aesthetics, such as the health benefits of meditation, where and how women in abusive relationships can get help, what hypnosis can do for breaking addictions, etc.

ClipinHair: What is the biggest compliment someone can give you?

Clare: In the context of MOOIMAAK, it's when our participants come to me and say "Clare, I trust you." Of course, that comes with a fair bit of pressure, but I don't take it lightly and, as a team, we give each participant our best.

ClipinHair: What is your advice to a women who wants to enhance her appearance, without spending money?

Clare: Wear sunblock, avoid sugar and gluten, make sure you're consuming enough healthy fats (like olive oil and avocado), stay hydrated, sleep enough & manage your stress levels (through exercise, meditation or time in nature). Unfortunately, there is no quick fix - it has to be a lifestyle.

ClipinHair: Being in the spotlight is something that comes natural to you. What is the one thing people don't know about you?

Clare: After school, I auditioned at RADA in London, as I wanted to become an actress, but I couldn't act to save my life.

ClipinHair: What is the best thing about being a woman in 2018?

Clare: The sense of opportunity and empowerment that comes with an ever-growing knowledge base, in the fields of health, beauty and wellness, where a holistic approach to living your best life is replacing tired, outdated & sexist ideas.

ClipinHair: What are you completely over and done with?

Clare: Sugar & gluten.

ClipinHair: What is increasingly becoming socially acceptable and what are your thoughts on it?

Clare: Being consumed by our digital devices and, thereby, often missing out on "real life". My husband and I have a "digi-alert" saying, when the other one has been on their phone too long, especially in the evenings after work.

ClipinHair What is the biggest lesson life has taught you?

Clare: If you're searching for that one person who will change your life, take a look in the mirror.
